Online Services

In light of the currently evolving COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation in the UK, we have suspended our online appointment booking system.  Prescriptions can still be ordered via our online service.

You can now order your medication and make GP appointments online using Patient Services.  To register for this, please contact Portree Medical Centre where you will be asked to provide an email address.  A form with registration details will then be given to you and you should use this to complete the registration process on the Patient Services website.

Attending Portree Medical Centre

We continue to have social distancing measures in place. We ask that no one attends the surgery unless they have an appointment; please call us for any other matters.

There is now an intercom system at the front door that patients should use on attending the surgery. Our reception team will ask a couple of questions to confirm who you’re seeing and to confirm that you do not have any Covid symptoms.  The waiting room has a few chairs, all two metres apart.  To ensure patients and staff are kept safe, we ask that you wear a face mask, attend at your appointment time – no earlier or later – and attend alone, where possible.

Please do not attend the medical centre if you have symptoms of coronavirus (continuous cough, fever/high temperature (37.8C or greater), and/or loss of, or change in, sense of smell or taste (anosmia)). Please contact 111 if you do have symptoms.

We are all grateful for your help and assistance during this time.

How to organise a Covid LFT test if you do not have symptoms

Free, fast and regular testing for people who do not have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) is available to everyone in Scotland. Around 1 in 3 people with coronavirus do not show symptoms, so can spread the virus to others without knowing.

Regular testing helps to find positive cases in people who have no symptoms, but who are still infectious. If people who test positive self-isolate, we can break chain of transmission and help limit the spread of coronavirus.

You can get collect rapid LFD tests at one of the community asymptomatic test sites if they are available in your area (or ask to be tested at the site), order tests to your home, either online or by calling 119, or collect tests from participating community pharmacies.

You should not use a LFD test if you:
- have coronavirus symptoms
- are self-isolating
- have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 90 days
- need to take a test for international travel

For more information on how to access rapid LFD tests, visit https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/infections-and-poisoning/coronavirus-covid-19/test-and-protect/coronavirus-covid-19-get-a-test-if-you-do-not-have-symptoms.
