P1000421Welcome to Portree Medical Centre

The Portree Medical Practice was established in 1975 by the combination of Practices in Uig, Staffin and Portree.

The Practice area covers the Trotternish peninsula, extending as far south as Sconser and as far west as Flashadder. We also provide medical services on the Island of Raasay.

The partners work as Medical Officers for Portree Community Hospital.

We are an approved Training Practice working with NHS Education for Scotland training doctors who want to be General Practitioners.  We also take undergraduate students from the University of Dundee and Imperial College, London. The Practice also has a trainer in Practice Management, part of the PMVTS training scheme.

Our aim at Portree Medical Centre is to provide the highest quality healthcare and advice, treating every person with dignity and respect whilst working in partnership with them, in a safe and friendly environment.

We have been notified by NHS Lanarkshire that some of their patients have received spam emails - allegedly from NICE stating that their recent blood test show cancerous cell and that they should open an attachment and make an appointment with their GP.

We now offer online appointment booking.  Please click on appointment above to find out more.

We now offer a safer online prescription ordering system as well as annual prescriptions for those on regular medication. Ask at reception.
